Join us for a festive season full of joy and creativity at Portlaoise Library!

We have holiday-themed events for all ages, including: storytime, Christmas crafts workshop, and a family movie night.

Join us at Portlaoise Library for a fun and inclusive Storytime session designed especially for young children with developmental disabilities, autism, or a language delay who use Lámh, pictures, or other communication systems.

Facilitated by Early Intervention Specialist and Lámh tutor, Silvia Angel, this interactive session uses Lámh signs, visuals, and sensory props to bring popular children’s stories and songs to life : supporting communication, engagement, and language development in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Parents, carers, and siblings are encouraged to join in, learning how to sign along and use visuals to make storytelling more accessible at home.

At the end of the session, Silvia will be available to answer any questions and offer practical tips for supporting storytelling and communication with your child.

About the Facilitator:

Silvia Angel is an Early Intervention Specialist, Lámh Tutor, and founder of Silvia Angel Education. With over 20 years’ experience supporting children with additional needs and their families, Silvia has worked in early intervention services, schools, and preschools across Ireland. A passionate advocate for inclusion and communication development, she delivers training for parents and educators and has reached over 8,000 families and professionals through her workshops and online learning. Inspired by her own journey as a parent to an autistic child, Silvia brings warmth, expertise, and lived experience to her work, helping families create meaningful ways to connect and communicate.

Join us for an adults-only Nintendo Tournament packed with friendly competition, nostalgic classics, and plenty of bragging rights. Whether you’re a casual button-masher or a seasoned pro, jump in, grab a controller, and battle it out for prizes and glory. 

This is an ADULT ONLY event and participants are required to bring their own Nintendo controllers to play.
